  1. Output Size

    The Output Size specifies the width and height of image. You can choose from the various predefined options, or select "Customize" to specify your own settings. In the predefined options there are several different ways to specify the output size, either use the Original size of the image, select an exact output size in pixels, "Ratio" or "Fit Within", the photo will be cropped to fit within the dimensions, or various common paper sizes. You can specify the output size is serval ways: You can specify the image dimensions in inches, centimeters, or pixels.

  2. Image Size

    The Image Size is used to select how the photo should be scaled, and optionally cropped, to fit the specified output size.

    Frame Surrounds Image

    The output size is adjusted to that the border surrounds the image, without cropping the photo.

    Fit Image in Frame

    The image is scaled proportionally to fit inside the border, the photo will not be cropped, but there will likely be a gap between the photo and the border.

    Crop to Fill the Frame

    The image is scaled proportionally to fill the inside of the border, the photo will likely be cropped to fit.

  3. How to frame a photo at Original Size

    Select the Output Size "Original Size", the Image Size has no effect. If you add a Border to the photo, it will surround the photo without cropping it.

  4. How to frame a photo, without cropping the photo

    Select the Image Size option "Frame Surrounds Image", which will adjust the output size to fit the entire photo, with the border surrounding the photo. Or, select one of the "Fit within" Output Sizes, which will scale the image to fit the shorter edge, and adjust the other edge to fit the image. With either of options, the photo will be scaled to fit the specified output size, if you don't want to scale the photo, set the Output Size to "Original Size".

  5. How to frame a photo with a specified aspect ratio

    Select one of the Output Sizes from the set of "Ratio (Full Resolution)" options, the output size will be the selected aspect ratio, the photo will be cropped to fit within the output size. The output size will be set to the largest size possible which maintains the specified aspect ratio, so the photo will not be scaled, but could be cropped to fit.
